The Haven is a spiritually-based recovery center that uses the 12-step model and peer support to stop the cycle of addiction and show its clients a new way of life. This is accomplished through a six-week program of mentorship, education, peer support and introduction into the recovery and treatment community.
Clients accepted into the Haven participate in a schedule of activities geared to support a new way of thinking and decision making behavior that results in a new lifestyle. The all-female staff are in recovery and understand both sides of addiction: 1) the decline in functionality and 2) the hope of a new life. It is through these mentors, who live a life of recovery and accountability, that clients receive guidance and hope through the experience of others who have overcome the same detriments the client faces.
The program is privately funded through a trust established by the founder and the cost is $300.00 for the six-week program. If a client is motivated to make a change in her life and cannot pay, she will not be denied access to services. Any woman who wants recovery has the opportunity to receive the benefits of the Haven’s program.
The program is a residential model; the client lives on premises and engages in structured daily programming. The day begins with breakfast at 8:00 a.m. with daily chores, classes, education groups, physical exercise, free time and outside recovery activities including community events in Tulsa.
